Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, Sunwise was founded in 1998 by two South African immigrants. They brought the utility of “sunsuits” and other sun protective wear to the US, having witnessed first hand consumer adoption of similar products overseas, notably in S. Africa, Europe and Australia. The founders recognized that the US market was on the verge of embracing similar products, spurred by increasing awareness of the dangers of skin cancer from sun exposure at a young age.
Almost seven years later, we’ve expanded the company and sold hundreds of thousands of sunsuits to parents of active children who recognize that early sun protection strategies yield the best long-term results. Parents who recognize the benefits that natural sun protective wear extend to them and the rest of the family.
We’ve grown so fast for three reasons:

2) Coppertone, Inc.tm, the US market leader for sun care products, selected Sunwise to manufacture and sell Coppertone sunsuits
3) We’ve built exclusive distribution channels in all the places parents buy both sun care products and children’s swimsuits, including department stores, pharmacies, grocery stores, and other mass retailers like Sears, Target, and Wal-Mart.

SUNWISE’S MISSION is to protect every child’s vulnerable skin from the sun’s dangerous UV rays with multipurpose swimwear that allows them—and, in the future, adults—the freedom to experience outdoor life to the fullest.
Skin cancer kills one person every hour in the US alone. SUNWISE’S GOAL is to reduce the suffering of future generations by offering protective sun wear, including sunsuits, hats, and booties, as well as other protective wear that improves total UV protection and reduces dependency on chemical sunscreens.
